BREAKING NEWS!! CHEETAH SAFARIS are in the privileged position to offer clients the opportunity to hunt on one of the largest privately owned areas in SA – The Matlabas Conservancy. This new conservancy has been established around CHEETAH SAFARIS old hunting land. A total of 15 bordering farms were bought and all inner fences have been removed. The 75 000 acres / 110 square miles hunting land only have a boundary fence around it, making it as free roaming as can be!
This unspoiled wilderness is tucked away from the eyes of civilization. This new area has been the hunting grounds of famous explorers and indigenous tribes for centuries. CHEETAH SAFARIS has long been home to discerning bow and rifle hunters. Kudu’s averaging 54.5” year after year is only one of our few proud achievements. 15 000 acres were put aside for “bow hunting only”.
The 20-mile western boundary line is the well-known Matlabas River that pulses live through this prime hunting land and brings with it an abundance of fish and wildlife.
The Eastern and Northern boundary of the conservancy is the Marong mountain escarpment.
CHEETAH SAFARIS also has one of the biggest Rhino herds in the world today from which we can offer outstanding green and trophy hunts. Our goal is to be able to offer the DANGEROUS 7 “free roaming” in the Matlabas Conservancy by the end of the 2015 hunting season.
