I have personally hunted South Africa five times, the last being this past July with Cheetah Safaris. The expansion that is taking place is amazing. Leon Meyer was my PH for the fourth time in as many hunts, and the two of us attempted to explore as much of the new areas as possible. We hunted the wet areas of Manzi, taking what we called the bush slam, a bush pig and a bush buck. then it was Marong where we took a beautiful zebra stalion. The number of Impala was unbelievable! (saw around 500+ per day, and many 23″ + bucks) took a very nice 24″. After 4 hunts without a Steenbuck I finally connected with a beauty. One of many seen on this hunt. Sable was on the list and after many days searching, we found and harvested a real beauty. Buffalo was not on the list, but when a problem bull was offered I didn’t hesitate. The staff and the lodge are first class and the 2 weeks we were at Cheetah flew by. I am re-booking for 2016 and hoping for a leopard this time. This was by far the best safari I have been on !
