Zambia has vast swamp lands and river basins making perfect habitat for aquatic species.
The Bengeulo swamps in north eastern Zambia are home to thousands of Black Lechwe. A good trophy will measure around 24”. This is the only place in the world where you can find this exotic species. The plains are also full of tessebe, puku and oribi. The very elusive sititunga are also in good numbers in the swamps.
The Kafue Flats are the only place that have the Kafue Lechwe, Thousands and thousands of these antelope cover the plains and it is a spectacle worth seeing. A good trophy will measure around 29”.
Sititungas are widely spread over Zambia’s swamplands. The current world no 1 is from Zambia. Only a few fortunate people have hunted this elusive aquatic antelope. It is a game of patience and long hours glassing the swamps but certainly a worthy trophy.
